Pip’s beautiful tribute. Read by Gill. Nanny and Pop were very progressive for their generation and always encouraged us to do what would make us happy. I remember talking to them about moving to Australia and they were both very supportive and started telling me about their travels to Australia and basically told me to do it! I think the fact that they were always travelling must have rubbed off on the grandchildren as most of us love to travel but Helen and I took it to extremes and now live in New Zealand and Australia respectively! Nanny was very family orientated and fiercely loyal. When Mawson (or Awesome as Nanny called him!) and I visited her at the home in June, Mawson was crawling towards us and a lady asked "is that a dog?" Nanny wasn't impressed and turned to me and said "silly old bitch"! We were very lucky to have Nanny in our lives for so long and that she got to meet lots of great grandchildren. When Mawson was born, she was very happy to finally have a great grandson AND to have beaten Iris and have more great grandchildren than her! We will miss you dearly Nanny, the world is a sadder place without you but you will live on in our hearts and memories forever. Enjoy being reunited with Dad and Pop over a drink- you and Dad will be on the lager and I'm sure Pop will have a pineapple juice or a tea with 7 sugars!
